1-on-1 Lessons

That’s right: I’ve now started offering 1-on-1 and small group lessons in the Northern Beaches of Sydney for those interested in taking their interest and passion for photography to the next level!

LESSONS:

Photography basics: Aperture, Exposure, ISO – the big 3.  Recognizing that it all comes down to LIGHT – and working with what you’ve got.  

Getting the right shot: NO MORE AUTO MODES!  Knowing when to use what settings (and most importantly why), depending on what the desired shot is (e.g. landscapes, portraits, macro, etc).  Using polarizing and specialty filters.   What do you want to shoot?  I’ll show you how.

Shooting video: Everything from setting up the shot, getting the audio right, editing, and more.
Post processing: Now that you’ve got your images, it’s time to learn some basics (as well as some secrets) in Photoshop to make them pop  (ESSENTIAL).  Also, developing a workflow so you can spend more time in the field and not behind your computer.
Developing a web presence: Everything from purchasing a custom web domain, creating a unique website/photoblog, Facebook page, YouTube channel, Flickr account and more to get your work out there for others to see (the hardest part!).  Also, preparing images for web use and protecting your copyrighted images from theft.
Making $$ from your images: For those looking for more than just a hobby!  Creative tips for generating a revenue stream from your work, both directly (selling your prints, landing freelance gigs, building a stock portfolio, offering lessons , etc) and indirectly (generating web traffic and therefore advertising revenue through multiple venues e.g. Google Adsense).

Of course, these are just starting points and each lesson can be customized based on your level of experience and primary focus/goals with photography!
