An Afternoon Hike in the Blue Mountains
Prepare yourself for a visual journey on a hike through the stunning Blue Mountains!
So, after taking the completely wrong train, backtracking, and missing another train, 7 hours later we finally made it to the quaint mountain town of Katoomba, normally about two hours north by train from Sydney. Arriving late worked out in my favor however, as it lent itself to some pleasant late afternoon lighting conditions. The hike to the trailhead is only about a 30 minute walk from the train station – which we quickly made, and proceeded to hike Federal Pass Trail, down the Giant Staircase, and back up along the canyons – finally arriving back where we started at Echo Point. The entire hike took about 2 1/2 hours – and as the pictures show, it’s worth every step. Enjoy!
Hope you enjoyed your photo journey through Federal Pass Trail…are your feet sore?
